Eco 4 wheeler (quad) Mozambique Trail

Punda Maria - Kruger National Park SA to Mapai

TOUR ITINERARY

The Gathering
Tour operators, 4x4 Adventurers and their parties get together at the camp in Punda Maria - Kruger National Park, to set up a bush tent camp. There will be a drivers briefing and an opportunity to get to know each other before enjoying supper and settling down for our first night together as a group. We feel that a sense of unity will serve all of us in the coming days and we will try to ensure that the main focus of this trip will be one of camaraderie.

Day 1
We get up bright and early, enjoy breakfast and get all our gear together for the border crossing which will be at Pafuri. Once we have all concluded the formalities of the border crossing we will leave our vehicles on the Mozambique side of the border. Here there will be guards to care for the vehicles and trailers in our absence. Please take all normal security precautions, we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or other equipment left here during the trip.
We off load our bikes and head for Mapai ±90 km. After arriving at the campsite we will set up camp and enjoy the bush, the majority of us will need the rest, while the brave can play in the Limpopo.

Day 2
Starting early in the morning your route is marked. Mapai will effectively be the starting point. This trip will take the form of a treasure hunt, maps will be supplied and the points where clues can be found will be clearly indicated. The objective will be to gather all of the clues on the individual legs of the journey and time will not be the principle issue, but attention to detail and some smart interpretation will be the decisive factors. Mostly it will add some spice to the day’s run and add some fun to the day, whilst affording the opportunity to stop and enjoy the stunning scenery. We will return to the camp when we are finished the day’s activities.

Day 3
Heading back to the border – packing up – bikes back on trailers and through the Kruger National Park heading back to Punda – Maria. That campsite is booked for the night and we will spend one more night in the open air. We will overnight here for the last time this trip, there will be the prize giving and an opportunity for everyone to share some of the special moments they experienced on the trip.

Day 4
We get up early, break-up camp, pack our vehicles and head for home.
